IGI Global Brings a New Era of Access With Read and Publish Licensing

Launch of IGI Global’s Read & Publish Licensing Model

IGI Global Scientific Publishing has unveiled its Read & Publish licensing model, which links institutional access to its academic e-book collection with unlimited open-access publishing in its journals.

How the Read & Publish Model Works

Under this model, libraries subscribe to IGI Global’s Scientific Publishing e-Book Collection, which features over 10,000 scholarly e-books and more than 200,000 peer-reviewed chapters. At the same time, researchers affiliated with participating institutions can publish their work as open access in nearly 200 IGI Global journals without paying individual publishing fees.

Access to Technology and Research Tools

According to the publisher, the agreement provides unlimited simultaneous access, removes digital rights management restrictions, and includes an advanced search platform. Additional AI-powered research tools are also planned.

Support for cross-disciplinary research

The proposed model supports interdisciplinary research across business and management, science, technology and medicine, education, and the social sciences.

Flat-Rate Pricing Removes Publishing Barriers

Instead of charging authors article processing fees. The publishing costs are covered through a single flat-rate payment made by the institution. It simplifies budgeting for libraries and removes financial barriers for researchers.

Publisher’s Statement on Open Access Goals

“With a Read & Publish license, libraries provide access to more than 10,000 scholarly research books while removing financial obstacles to open access publishing for faculty and researchers,” said Nick Newcomer, senior vice president of sales and marketing at IGI Global Scientific Publishing.
